Record/Vinyl + Digital Album
DEATHHAMMER RECORDS proudly presents its next release [DHR010] entitled Sphinx – The Great Engima of Times. This split 12” EP represents the sepulchral manifestation of the entities Akrotheism and Septuagint, both hailing from Greece. The EP was first released on CD by Forever Plagued Records in 2015 and sees its invocation on vinyl being materialized on 28 February 2018.
Akrotheism present 2 unadulterated compositions, with the merciless guitar work dominating and elevating this chaotic atmosphere into a spiritual state in unison with the fierce vocals and vehement drumming.
Septuagint contribute their monumental antinomian epos entitled Shadows of Opposition discharging noxious and deranged disharmonies, reflecting on the truth of the inner self. Embrace death!
The astonishing artwork belongs to Artem Grigoryev.

Bloody hell the vocals here are absolutely majestic; supremely dynamic with loads of variance in style while maintaining a visceral brutality. The atmospheric elements are gracefully and artfully intertwined but make no mistake, this is ruthless black metal first and foremost. Band synergy is also stunning and can be felt through my speakers; everything is just so masterfully packaged together. Faith

Merci Déhà for the download code. Lots of bands use these ingredients – pretty female vocals over doomy guitars always sounds good, but usually that's where the ideas run out. That isn't the case here. Each song is packed with ideas and evolutions, genres and references it's boring to list but not at all to listen to. A pleasure to have been introduced to this. Luke
